Further Improved 3D Vision Support for Battlefield: Bad Company 2

May 4th, 2010 · No Comments · Stereo 3D Games

Bad Company 2 used to have a bug, where the name tags (and associated icons) were rendered way off from the character they belong to when playing the game in stereo 3D mode with 3D Vision, but now that issue is fixed. This problem was more apparent in the Multiplayer mode of the game as in Singleplayer you don’t see many name tags anyway. You can see what I’m talking about in the video above, to get an idea of the annoying nature of the problem when trying to play with name tags moved away like that…

The latest Battlefield: Bad Company 2 patch (version 529843) which was released on April 21st has the name tags display fixed and you should normally have that automatically installed, but if you skipped the update and you play the game in stereo 3D mode with 3D Vision then now you have a good point in updating it. BFBC2 has an auto-update mechanism and forces all the Multiplayer users to update to the latest patch, but it seems that a lot of people that play the game mostly in Singleplayer might not have applied the patch and thus can still have the issue. And you are more than welcome to share your thoughts in the comments below how the latest patch works for you in stereo 3D mode…

And if you still don’t have the game, because it did not yet perform good enough for you in stereo 3D mode when using 3D Vision, then now you don’t have an excuse anymore even for that, so you can go and get it. The current price for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 at Amazon is $43.51 USD. Not to mention that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is also one of the game titles that works very well with a 3D Vision Surround setup as we’ve seen in all the 3D Vision Surround demonstrations going on around lately (plays very well on 3 displays). And the new driver release version 256, that will give us 3D Vision Surround as a feature is just around the corner and should very soon be available to everyone with two Fermi-based GTX 470 or GTX 480 or even GT200-based SLI configurations.
